Strings

The strings form the core of the orchestra and include the largest number of players. This section consists of violins, violas, cellos, and double basses, producing a rich and warm sound. Strings often carry the melody but also provide harmony and rhythm support, underpinning the orchestra’s overall sound. Players are required to have high technical skill and can produce a wide variety of expressions.
